Safety Communications Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Communications Officer to join our team in downtown Edmonton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring phone lines and radios, performing inbound and outbound calls, and handling emergency situations with a calm demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor 3 phone lines and radio to action follow-up tasks and provide information and updates
- Perform inbound and outbound calls to check in on remote workers
- Follow emergency protocol and crisis protocols as required
- Handle inbound calls from external customers regarding inquiries and complaints
Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant experience within an emergency communications environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task efficiently
- Ability to handle complex calls and stressful emergency situations with a calm demeanor
- Strong typing skills
- Intermediate skills with MS Office Suite
What We Offer:
- Availability for days, afternoons, nights shifts 7 days/week, with a 5 day 40 hours work week
- Premiums for afternoon/night/weekend shifts
- Must be available to work on-site 100% of the time
- Potential for contract to extend or convert to a permanent role based on performance
