Business Systems Analyst with Data Warehousing and Insurance Knowledge

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business analysis, data warehousing, and insurance industry experience. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of business systems and software solutions that meet the needs of CAA Club Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with stakeholders to define business and operations requirements and identify systems issues
  • Lead design sessions to prototype new systems and enhance business processes
  • Review and analyze existing systems to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop strategies to improve system effectiveness and efficiency
  • Design and implement short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining corporate systems
  • Ensure proposed and existing systems architectures align with organizational goals
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
  • Collaborate with business users to gather and analyze business requirements
  • Model business and systems processes using use case scenarios and data models
  • Monitor data quality issues and perform cross-validation between source applications and data warehouse
  • Participate in cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems
  • Provide direction to Application Developers through systems models and business requirement specifications
  • Coordinate definition of test cases for Quality Assurance and UAT
  • Provide training and orientation to business users for modified and new systems

Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in business administration, computer science, or management information systems
  • 5+ years of work experience in the Insurance industry and 5+ years of experience as a business analyst
  • Guidewire experience is an asset
  • 5 years of experience with hands-on business and data analysis in data warehousing and leading enterprise data warehousing projects
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques, database design, and concepts is mandatory
  • Working technical knowledge of SQL programming languages, relational databases, and ETL processes and tools
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries and understanding technical specifications
  • Experience with design, development, and support of business intelligence tools such as Qlikview, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions
  • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows platforms
  • Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts
  • Extensive experience with core software applications, including Policy Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project Professional
  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and mainframe applications
