About the Role

Flynn Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Roofing Apprentice to join our team. As a Roofing Apprentice, you will assist experienced roofers in installing and repairing various types of roofing systems, including asphalt shingles, metal roofs, and single-ply roofing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel
  • Help install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
  • Assist in the installation of single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions
  • Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems
  • Assist in instructing apprentices
  • Help install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
Work Environment

As a Roofing Apprentice, you will work at heights, in noisy environments, and outdoors. You will be required to work in various locations, including commercial and industrial settings.

Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically demanding work
  • Ability to handle heavy loads
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Reliability and dependability
