We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide high-quality nursing care in our long term and acute care facilities in the Chesley area.

As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care.
  • Utilizing sound nursing practice principles to ensure excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensuring timely and accessible admissions, comprehensive orientations, and safe resident transfers and discharges.
  • Managing the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and adhering to protocols on all assigned shifts.
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.

Requirements:

  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Able to work with persons with Infectious Diseases.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR.
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), and a negative TB skin test within one year, as well as Hepatitis B.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shift times, including eight or twelve hours in length, and to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
  • Reliability to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
  • Compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy.
