Senior Kitchen Staff Position at MILESTONES

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Kitchen Staff member to join our team at MILESTONES. This is a full-time permanent position with a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management. They will also provide guidance and support to junior staff members in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to a high standard
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and order supplies as needed
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience
  • At least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead junior staff members
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
