About the Role
The Health Care Aide is a vital member of our care team at Bethany Care Society, providing exceptional support and care to our residents. As a Health Care Aide, you will be responsible for promoting a culture of excellence in resident-centered care, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident-Centered Care: Provide personalized care and support to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living, promoting independence, and maintaining dignity.
- Documentation: Accurately document and report resident care and observations to the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, ensuring comprehensive and timely documentation.
- Safety: Contribute to a safe environment for residents, staff, and self by adhering to safety guidelines and practices, and demonstrating knowledge of resident, occupational health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Pro-active Learner: Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, aligning with the values and mission of Bethany Care Society.
- Team Work: Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and change resident care needs, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Grade 10 education and Government of Alberta approved Health Care Aide certificate
- Registered with the Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
- Previous Health Care Aide experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment
- Demonstrates ability to understand, speak, read, and write effectively in English
- Excellent observation, communication, and problem-solving skills

- FTE: 0.46
- Position Type: Part-Time
- Hours of Work: Evenings
- Hours per Shift: 7.5 hours
- Shifts per Cycle: 12 shifts in a 5-week rotation
