We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Health Care Aide, you will work as a member of the health care team, providing care to cardiology patients within the Nursing Attendant (NA) scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort, and safety of the patient.
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers.
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide personal assistance and support services.
- Assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
- Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
- Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Recent experience in an acute care setting.
- Ability to communicate in verbal and written English.
