Strategic Materials Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This is a key role that requires strong negotiation skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of procurement processes.
Responsibilities:
Procure materials and services from vendors through effective negotiation and relationship-building.
Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to source new components and ensure adequate supply levels.
Manage inventory levels through active review and engagement in cycle counts using the MRP system.
Negotiate pricing and lead times for sourced components, maintaining vendor relationships and ensuring competitive pricing.
Analyze quotes from vendors to minimize storage costs and ensure cost-effectiveness.
Requirements:
Accredited Four-Year University Degree or Three-Year Technical Diploma.
3-5 years of experience in a buyer role within a similar industry.
Proven negotiation skills with demonstrated success in supplier relationships.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.
Comprehensive understanding of Total Cost principles for products and services.
