About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Model Art Director to lead our modeling team on complex shows, ensuring that models meet production requirements.
As a key member of our DMS (Digital Model Shop) team, you will work under the guidance of the VFX Supervisor and collaborate with other department supervisors to establish the preferred look of models and ensure they move through the pipeline successfully.

About the Job
- Crafts high-quality assets while supervising model work on large and complex shows, ensuring all technical and aesthetic aspects meet production requirements.
- Works closely with VFX, Texture, and Look Dev Supervisors to determine the desired look for an asset.
- Participates in turnover meetings, asset breakdowns, reviews, and bidding/re-bidding throughout the show.
- Attends all relevant show production and team meetings to promote effective communication.
- Briefs, reviews, and approves Third Party Partner model work.
- Collaborates with Production to assign work to modelers based on their skills and strengths.
- Guides artists' professional development, provides performance feedback, and maintains positive morale among the crew.
- Participates in recruiting and staffing the modeling team, assessing candidates and working with Recruiting and Talent Management on hiring decisions.
About You
- 10+ years of experience creating complex 3D organic or hard surface objects for Film or TV required.
- Proven leadership experience at equivalent large-scale VFX facilities on multiple projects.
- Expert knowledge of Maya and ZBrush.
- Strong design sense for mechanics, vehicles, and architecture.
- A creative and critical eye for guiding form, anatomy, and structure/silhouette.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and assimilate new information.
About the Opportunity
This position offers a competitive salary range of $137,300 - $175,800 per year, based on a 40-hour work week. The actual base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on individual circumstances. A full range of medical, financial, and other benefits may be offered dependent on the level and position offered.
