Mechanical Engineer Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer Technician to join our team at ANDRITZ Hydro Canada. As a key member of our Mechanical Design Team, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of new and refurbished Francis, Kaplan, and propeller turbine units.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings from references, sketches, or based on instructions from engineers or senior designers;
- Create drawing-associated material lists;
- Review drawings and material lists to check for errors, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and internal design standards;
- Ensure designs can be manufactured, are transportable, and operational, proposing design improvements to reduce costs and improve quality as needed;
- Participate in continuous improvement activities;
- Enter data into the material resource planning system (SAP);
- Perform drawings revisions;
- Be responsible for the execution time of your own work, participating in schedule updates;
- Be responsible for the quality and precision of your work.
- College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience;
- Good knowledge of heavy mechanical equipment, welded structures, methods of manufacturing, and machining, as well as drafting rules and practices;
- Strong background in 3D design;
- Autonomous;
- Teamwork skills;
- Fluency in French and English;
- Knowledge of Unigraphics NX8, Teamcenter, and SAP an asset;
- Knowledge of hydro turbine (turbine and generator) an asset.
