Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at ANDRITZ Hydro Canada. As a member of our Mechanical Design Team Turbine, you will play a key role in the design of new and refurbished Francis, Kaplan, and propeller turbine units.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings from references, sketches, or instructions from engineers or senior designers;
- Create drawing-associated material lists;
- Review drawings and material lists to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer specifications and internal design standards;
- Ensure designs can be manufactured, transported, and operated efficiently;
- Propose design improvements to reduce costs and enhance quality;
- Participate in continuous improvement activities;
- Enter data into the material resource planning system (SAP);
- Perform drawings revisions;
- Manage execution time and participate in schedule updates;
- Ensure the quality and precision of work.
- College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience;
- Strong knowledge of heavy mechanical equipment, welded structures, manufacturing methods, and machining, as well as drafting rules and practices;
- Autonomous and team-oriented individual with strong communication skills;
- Fluency in French and English;
- Knowledge of Unigraphics NX8, Teamcenter, and SAP an asset;
- Knowledge of hydro turbine (turbine and generator) an asset.
