Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Equipment Planning Intern to join our team at Kiewit. As an Equipment Planning Intern, you will play a critical role in supporting our Regional Construction operations by planning, scheduling, budgeting, and managing the utilization and reliability of our construction and mining equipment fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Develop and maintain tool and filter lists and documentation
  • Conduct inspections of equipment and parts to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Manage logistics and communication with suppliers and vendors
  • Support the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs
  • Collaborate with craft maintenance technicians to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
  • Assist in the planning and preparation for critical lifts and equipment moves
  • Support the analysis and implementation of data-driven solutions to improve equipment availability and reliability
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET), Diesel Technology, or Automotive Technology
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work full-time during the Fall (September-December)
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
