Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team at Olds Oasis Organic Inc. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the farm, ensuring efficient production processes, and maintaining high-quality crop yields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Crop Management: Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots, guide growing shoots into optimal development positions, and implement soil fertility programs to maintain healthy crops.
  • Agricultural Services: Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adhering to quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Maintain quality control and production records, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to optimize crop yields.
  • Staff Management: Hire and train staff members, developing their skills and knowledge to meet the demands of the farm.
  • Farm Safety: Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.

Requirements:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1-6 months of experience in a similar role
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and attention to detail

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physically demanding with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking

Personal Suitability:

  • Organized and a team player
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours per week

Compensation:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience
