About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team at Halton Healthcare. In this role, you will be responsible for the support and management of the Hospital's medical devices and systems as it relates to cybersecurity.

You will utilize your technical knowledge to monitor and maintain medical device security solutions that meet the requirements of the operational business needs. This includes collaborating with stakeholders regarding medical device security issues and advising the Biomed/ICT team and the organization on current information pertaining to medical device security threats/issues, security technologies and related regulatory issues.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide guidance for conducting cybersecurity risk assessments of connected medical devices and mitigating security threats that could impact the confidentiality, integrity, and/or availability of medical devices or the information processed by these devices.
  2. Focus on risk assessment as it applies to a medical device's vital software components – including updates and security patches.
  3. Act as a liaison between ICT and Biomed and collaborate with stakeholders regarding medical device security issues.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Biomedical Engineering Technician/Technology Program or equivalent qualifications, education or experience.
  • Current member of OACETT.
  • Experience as a Biomedical Technologist, hospital setting preferred.
  • Experience with medical device cybersecurity as it pertains to networks (WAN/LAN/Wireless), hardware and security based troubleshooting and support skills, Microsoft Operating System environments (Client and Server side), security products: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Virus/malware protection, Internet Filtering, encryption and monitoring tools; TCP/IP protocol.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, medical instrumentation, troubleshooting and recognized standards.
  • Technical knowledge of PC's, servers, networking and applications.
  • Working knowledge of industry recognized Information Technology and Security frameworks including NIST Security Framework, ISO 27001, ISO 27002 along with provincial and federal security and privacy legislation.
  • Knowledge of Access Control security products, tools and techniques, network infrastructure, applications and equipment pertinent to a large, distributed, heterogeneous computing environment.
  • Firm knowledge of access control standards.
  • At least one of the following industry certification is an asset: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) preferred.
