We are looking for an Electrical Power Systems Specialist to join our High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) team in Montreal. You will work with a talented group of engineers, analyzing electrical circuits in the frequency domain and performing harmonics studies on high voltage substations.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer requirements and feasibility, performing harmonics studies supporting high voltage equipment definition.
  • Evaluate harmonic power quality requirements and analyze small-signal stability in the harmonic range.
  • Calculate harmonic stresses in HVDC station main circuit equipment and propose mitigation measures if necessary.
  • Develop tools in Excel, MATLAB, or Python to effectively analyze and process large amounts of data.
  • Effectively participate in negotiations, presenting and discussing challenges on your own work.
  • Write clear technical reports describing complex study work.
  • Participate in conferences and standardization work groups within the international engineering communities.

Requirements:

  • Professional Engineering degree with 2+ years of experience in harmonics analysis and studies on high voltage substations.
  • Experience modeling and analyzing electrical circuits in the frequency domain.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • French speaking is an asset.
