Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Middle Office Analyst to join our team at Manulife. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational support, prioritizing tasks as necessary, and actively managing risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day operational support, including trade matching, settlements, and post-settlements, prioritizing tasks as necessary.
  • Cover tasks that may arise from coverage issues.
  • Actively manage risks, including operational, reputational, and settlement risks.
  • Ensure a strong understanding of tasks assigned, including investment concepts, best practices, and system requirements.
  • Participate in cross-skilling assignments.
  • Timely escalate issues to SME/TL, proactively mitigating process gaps or potential issues.
  • Manage and maintain good working relationships with Front Office, Onshore, and Offshore counterparts.
  • Support analysis to identify root causes of production problems and errors (SOE) and develop timely solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and use of tact to resolve conflicts.
  • Propose projects and process automations to promote service excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related business course.
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience within Trade Support, Middle Office, Investment Operations, and/or Fund Accounting.
  • Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on fixed night shift schedule.

Domain Knowledge Requirements:

  • Understand the concepts surrounding Trade Support functions and the Trade Life Cycle.
  • Possesses a fundamental understanding of investment transactions, trade lifecycle, and various asset classes.
  • Good working knowledge in using Bloomberg and other pricing/data sources.
  • Knowledge in BBG, SCD, Custodian Portals is highly preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge regarding Data Management, Pricing, Settlements, Reconciliation, Transactions, and Transfers processes.
