About the Role

Position Overview

The Government of Alberta is seeking a dedicated Child and Youth Care Worker to provide direct care and support to vulnerable youth in care. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work directly with youth, their families, and other professionals to ensure a safe and secure environment that promotes their well-being and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services that ensure a safe and secure environment for vulnerable youth
  • Conduct assessments and implement plans to meet the specific needs of each youth
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans
  • Provide input to the multi-disciplinary team based on observations and direct interaction with the child
  • Ensure a trauma-informed environment consistent with the centre philosophy and policies

Working Environment

Positions in this class may work in either an open or secure environment. As a Child and Youth Care Worker, you will have the opportunity to work with a high-risk youth population between the ages of 12-17 who require specialized care and support.

Requirements

A Child and Youth Care diploma or degree is required. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable youth and a strong understanding of trauma-informed care.
