  1. Lead the tender process from invitation to submission for a 100% self-performance excavating company.
  2. Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and cost estimations.
  3. Review scope and complete bid forms accurately.
  4. Conduct site visits and attend bid interviews to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
  5. Communicate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  6. Prepare RFIs (Request for Information) with clients to clarify project details.
  7. Maintain a tender tracker and monitor submissions to ensure timely follow-up.
  8. Follow up with clients throughout the bidding process to ensure a smooth experience.
  9. Review production with the operations team to identify areas for improvement.
  10. Mentor and train junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  11. Present bid opportunities to management for review and approval.
  12. Proactively seek out fresh avenues for excavation projects, leveraging industry networks, market analysis, and strategic partnerships.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. 3+ years of construction experience.
  2. 2+ years of excavating focused estimating experience.
  3. Experience working for a specialist excavating subcontractor is highly preferred.
Overview:

Our client is a major construction group with multiple arms, including Excavating, Demolition, Residential construction, and Civil construction, operating across Canada. The salary for this position will vary depending on experience and seniority, ranging from $90,000 to $150,000. Benefits include an annual bonus, matched pension scheme, and health & dental cover.
