About the Role

The Communications and Marketing Manager, Québec will play a key role in implementing effective communications and marketing strategies to support advocacy for francophone songwriters, composers, and music publishers. This position will provide strategic leadership in all online and offline public relations activities to facilitate the exchange of information between SOCAN and our members, clients, music industry, and public in the Québec market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications and marketing strategies that align with SOCAN's overall organizational goals and objectives with a Québec-market focus.
  • Oversee the creation of content for various channels, including social media, websites, blogs, and newsletters.
  • Protect and enhance the organization's brand reputation by ensuring consistent messaging, visual identity, and tone across all communication materials and platforms.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain an annual budget for Québec communications programming.
Communications, Outreach, and Public Relations
  • Execute strategic and targeted communications campaigns to increase member engagement with relevant materials to promote information and education on multiple channels.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with the media to ensure that our messages are effectively communicated to the public.
  • Write research-based, data-driven content to help us continue to grow SOCAN's reputation as a leading Canadian collective management organization representing francophone and anglophone music creators and publishers.
  • Leverage storytelling techniques to develop editorial and advertorial content and media pitches for mainstream and industry publications.
Brand, Content, Services, and Product Development
  • Create compelling and tailored content, communications services, and products for various purposes and channels, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and websites.
  • Create high-quality content that highlights the organization's products, services, and value proposition for various channels, including websites, emails, presentations, case studies, and social media.
Community Awareness and Monitoring
  • Develop and execute a proactive communications approach that anticipates and addresses key issues and opportunities.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns using key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
