Role Overview:

As a Building Operations Specialist at Cadillac Fairview, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment used in the daily operation of our physical plant and Centre. This role requires a strong commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for tenants and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs to maintain equipment and ensure corporate image.
  • Secure the property against loss due to theft, fire, liability claims, and prosecutions by adhering to health, safety, and security procedures.
  • Monitor central plant and related systems to maintain a comfortable environment for tenants and patrons.
  • Test fire equipment monthly to ensure proper operation and tenant safety.
  • Perform daily inspections of common and maintenance areas and relamp to ensure proper lighting levels.
  • Respond to tenant concerns regarding HVAC issues by solving problems or making recommendations to reduce repair costs and ensure high customer service.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and enrollment in SMA or SMT (BOMA).
  • Minimum two years' experience in physical plant operations, HVAC, and related equipment in a commercial hi-rise or mixed-use environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of general maintenance procedures and familiarity with site and current technology.
  • General knowledge of HVAC electrical/mechanical systems and computer programs such as Microsoft Office and building automation system (BAS) software.
