Job Summary


This Support Associate for Special Needs will work with students who have physical or developmental needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, and other conditions. The ideal candidate will be able to provide individualized support and accommodations to ensure students' success in the classroom.


Key Responsibilities



  • Assist students with toileting, lifting, transferring, feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene
  • Support students with behavioral needs, including those with ASD and other conditions
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting students

Requirements



  • Post-secondary certification in a related field, such as Early Childhood Education or Special Education
  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
