Job Title: Construction Trades Helper

We are seeking a skilled Construction Trades Helper to join our team at ESSKAY HOMES INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will assist in various tasks related to construction, including loading and unloading materials, cleaning and lubricating cranes, and instructing apprentices.

Responsibilities:
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Clean and lubricate cranes
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Assemble tower cranes on site
  • Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
  • Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move, and place plant machinery and materials
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move, and place equipment and materials
  • Operate dragline cranes to expose coal seams and ore deposits at open pit mines
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
  • Ability to work outdoors, at heights, and in dusty environments
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and repetitive tasks
