About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Development Specialist to join our team at Modern Technical Staffing Inc. for a 6-9 month contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and validate technical drawings of suspension and steering components against benchmark data and project specifications.
  • Identify gaps between technical drawings and benchmark data/specifications, collaborating with external manufacturers and internal labs to acquire required information.
  • Develop detailed specifications and conceptual drawings for submission of RFQs.
  • Work with peers to validate completed specification and conceptual drawings before submitting them to contract manufacturers.
  • Resolve manufacturing and design problems that arise during the drawing review process by collaborating with external suppliers.
  • Document and capture all EDRs and ECRs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • At least 3 years' experience in automotive component design and/or drafting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Mechanical, or other 2D CAD software.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor or other 3D CAD software.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is an asset.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software is an asset.
  • Configuration skills with Autodesk Vault software are an asset.
  • Understanding of Mechanical Testing (Hardness, Metallurgy, Tensile).
  • Knowledge of GD&T as per ASME Y14.5.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to build effective business relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum
