Job Title: Restorative Care Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Restorative Care Therapist to join our team at Ina Grafton Gage Home. As a Restorative Care Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapy services to our residents, helping them to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments to identify the physical needs of our residents, including ambulation, ROM, exercise, and equipment requirements.
  • Develop and implement restorative care programs under the direction of our Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide therapy services to residents, including walking, ROM exercises, and large group exercises.
  • Process and monitor referrals, modifying programs as needed to ensure individual needs are met.
  • Audit and evaluate the effectiveness of restorative care programs.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to establish nursing restorative services for residents.
  • Order assistive devices as necessary and provide ongoing maintenance and cleaning.
  • Participate in department meetings, unit meetings, care plan rounds, and interdisciplinary care conferences.
  • Ensure effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers, and staff.
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a training program in restorative care or enrollment in such a program.
  • Experience working in a long-term care setting.
  • Commitment to promoting residents' well-being.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • CPR and First Aid qualifications.
  • Knowledge of RAI-MDS – AIS certification.
