We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Development Lead - Sustainable Architecture to join our team at Figurr Architects Collective. Located in Ottawa, ON, this role offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary of $54,375 per year based on 37.5 hours worked per week.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position with a term or contract of 3 years. As a Design and Development Lead - Sustainable Architecture, you will be responsible for assisting all office staff with internal consultation and support with developing sustainable design approaches. You will also design and develop highly efficient building envelopes and their details to meet green certification standards for projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in supervising construction projects
  • Create 2D and 3D models
  • Analyze technical documents and reports
  • Prepare proposals
  • Tender contracts
  • Write specifications
  • Monitor and inspect work
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Construct architectural and display models

Requirements:

  • College diploma, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 - 2 years in architectural technology with a specialization in sustainable design
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in the field
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles, particularly with regard to the building envelope
  • Expertise in the design of technical details
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Experience in site supervision and construction administration
  • Experience in cost estimation
  • LEED Green Associate credential required
  • Knowledge of Passive House
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite apps, Microsoft Office programs, Sketch Up, Twin Motion, AutoCAD and U-Bakus
  • Good knowledge of REVIT
