Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for keeping accurate records of all products shipped and received, including pick and pack goods, developing shipping labels and documents, and ensuring all orders have been picked and packed correctly.
  • Verify incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy of goods matching shipping documents and purchase orders.
  • Make deliveries as needed, operating a company vehicle.
  • Service customers via telephone and/or walk-ins, ensuring counters are properly stocked, and interact with customers, vendors, and associates to resolve customer-related and service-related issues.
  • Act as a liaison between warehouse and customers, picking and packing goods to be shipped, and preparing identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Determine method of shipment and prepare all required and supporting documentation, ensuring timely shipment of materials and customer satisfaction.
  • Receive merchandise, checking and signing delivery slips, and assisting with unloading, affixing barcodes, tags, and security tags, and operating forklift, hand trucks, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against purchase orders or other documents, recording shortages, and rejecting damaged goods.
  • Organize distribution and shipping of merchandise, making necessary verifications against documents, unpacking, and routing goods to appropriate storage areas.
  • Maintain internal record-keeping systems, contacting transport companies and suppliers to expedite, trace, or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders.
  • Take inventory, maintain storage area, organize, and place stock on shelves, ensuring the area is secure at all times.

Work Environment

  • Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment, stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes, and make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
  • No travel required.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred, 0-2 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
