About the Opportunity

As a key member of the Nova Scotia Health team, the Leader Patient Flow Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of patient care services. This position is responsible for coordinating patient flow services within Colchester East Hants County, Northern Zone facilities and NSH, in accordance with the mission and policies of the Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will have a strong background in healthcare operations and experience in clinical utilization, bed management, and conflict resolution. They will also possess excellent leadership, planning, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, management, staff, physicians, and community partners.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related health discipline, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care setting and 1-2 years of supervisory and leadership experience. They will also have demonstrated proficiency in the use and application of the Patient Flow Dashboard (Tableau) and Meditech, as well as competencies in other languages, preferably French.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related health discipline
  • 3 years of experience in an acute care setting, plus 1-2 years working in a supervisory and/or leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, organization, time management, and conflict resolution skills
  • Collaborator with demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated minimum of one-year experience in clinical utilization
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with software programs related to bed utilization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying the principles of adult education
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use and application of the Patient Flow Dashboard (Tableau) and Meditech
  • Competencies in other languages, preferably French
Hours
  • Permanent, Full-Time (%) position; 75 Hours bi-weekly
  • Shifts include days, evenings & weekends (May be required to do overnight during times of system overcrowding, not part of regular scheduled hours)
Compensation and Incentives

$53.35 Hourly
