Job Summary:

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Tech Conferences Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of key initiatives, including conferences and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for conferences and events, ensuring alignment with broader objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of conference organization, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring high-quality content, engaging formats, and seamless logistics.
  • Proactively engage with potential tech companies to explore their interest in establishing a presence in the province.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners, including government agencies, local tech companies, and ecosystem partners.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the conference team to ensure effective collaboration and achievement of objectives.
  • Manage project budgets and cultivate sponsorship relationships to ensure successful financial planning and partnership growth.
  • Evaluate the success of conferences and business attraction strategies, utilizing data-driven insights to adapt plans and optimize outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in event management, business development, or related roles, with a focus on the technology sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully planning and executing large-scale conferences or events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Problem-solving skills including quick thinking and creativity in resolving issues that arise during event planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of the technology sector and economic development landscape is an asset.
