Role Overview

 You will serve as a Senior Consultant, Global Benefits at Cowan Insurance Group, providing expert advice and solutions to clients on their employee benefit plans. Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining strong client relationships, providing ongoing education and support to clients, and identifying opportunities for cross-selling and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain strong client and partner relationships
  2. Provide ongoing education, support, and guidance to established client contacts
  3. Develop and provide client-specific competitive plan design and concepts
  4. Work collaboratively with internal resources to meet client needs
  5. Identify cross-selling opportunities within a block of clients
  6. Stay up-to-date on the latest employee benefits industry trends and best practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the employee benefits industry
  • Completed post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience and training
  • Life Licensed (LLQP) or willing to obtain as quickly as possible
  • Bonus points if you hold or are working towards a CEBS designation
  • Solid understanding of underwriting concepts, techniques, and analysis
  • Knowledge of flexible benefits and ability to design and implement strategic initiatives
  • Proven track record in managing a complex block of business in a fast-paced environment
  • Client-focused with a partnership mentality
  • Strong relationship-builder with excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Can identify and drive opportunities to grow an existing book and cross-sell
  • Capable of working remotely and/or from an office base interchangeably
  • Travel may be required
  • Maintenance of a valid driver's license
