Job Summary:

As the Chief Legal Officer at SkillsWave LLC, you will oversee the company's employment-related legal matters, litigation, and other legal issues as they arise. You will provide strategic advice to the President and Executive Chairman, assist with procurement matters, and manage organizational compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage employment-related legal matters, including litigation and compliance programs.
  • Provide strategic advice to the President and Executive Chairman on employment law, corporate governance, and corporate finance.
  • Develop, draft, and implement the company's compliance policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and government authorities as required.
  • Manage litigation, including eDiscovery and external litigation counsel.
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing agreements, including partnership, non-disclosure, and license agreements.

Requirements:

  • Called to the bar in Canada or the United States.
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience as a corporate lawyer.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience drafting and reviewing contract terms and conditions, including liability, indemnity, and IP considerations.
  • Transaction management experience an asset.
  • International experience an asset.

What We Offer:

A competitive salary range of $120,000 to $150,000, based on the minimum level of work experience and qualifications. This salaried position requires a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.
