About the Role

CIBC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Relationship Manager to join our Indigenous Markets team. As a key member of our Commercial Banking team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our Indigenous clients, driving business growth, and delivering a broad range of financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored financial solutions.
  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and grow our Indigenous client base through strategic partnerships and relationship-building.
  • Financial Solutions: Provide a range of financial solutions, including commercial banking, credit, and cash management services, to meet the needs of our Indigenous clients.
  • Credit Risk Management: Manage credit risk, credit expiries, and the credit application process, ensuring a thorough understanding of the client's business and risk ratings.
  • Internal Partnerships: Collaborate with internal partners, including Retail Banking, Wealth Management, and Community Giving, to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new products, and share knowledge with the team to drive business growth.
Requirements
  • Indigenous Business Expertise: Demonstrated ability to navigate the intricacies of Indigenous businesses, governance structures, and land designations, and how these characteristics influence credit and lending processes.
  • Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous clients, internal partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Business Development: Experience in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and growing client relationships through strategic partnerships.
  • Credit Skills: Well-developed credit skills, including due diligence, risk assessment, and credit application process management.
  • Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial banking products, services, and industry trends, including Indigenous offerings and initiatives.
