Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Field Service Technician II to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our utility-scale solar facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior Field Service Technicians and lead junior technicians in operating and maintaining solar facilities.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.
  • Troubleshoot low voltage DC power systems and low voltage and medium voltage AC power systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
  • Identify faulty or underperforming equipment and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Use hand tools effectively and appropriately, and utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables.
  • Assist in the development of site operating plans and ensure compliance with site safety plans and safe work practices.
  • Interface with project stakeholders, including owners, equipment manufacturers, and project subcontractors.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and respond to emergency calls within 1.5 hours.
  • Operate company vehicles in accordance with state and federal laws and company policies.
  • Attend work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Comply with the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedules for emergency response.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of related electrical maintenance experience and/or education required.
  • Ability to reside within a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.
  • Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.
  • Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
  • FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot certification preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of high voltage electrical power systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, low voltage and medium voltage electrical power systems, drawings, circuit theory, OSHA regulations, equipment operation, job hazard analysis, electrical tools, ANSI/NETA MTS, and SCADA systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of hand tools.
  • Domestic travel 5-15%.
  • Valid driver's license required.
