Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Program Coordinator to join our team at Verve Senior Living. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing recreational programs for our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program
  • Assess the recreational needs of each resident and plan programs accordingly
  • Maintain awareness of changes in the condition and behavior of residents and modify programs as needed
  • Communicate the activities of the department to residents, staff, families, and the community
  • Participate in the hiring process, train, orientate, and provide work direction, instruction, and guidance to department staff
Requirements
  • Diploma in recreation/leisure studies from a recognized community college or university, courses in gerontology
  • 3-5 years experience in recreation programming and/or volunteer management for seniors population
  • Knowledge of programs and techniques in recreation, community resources, and program development
  • Smart Serve Certification and Can Fit certification (or willing to obtain within 6 months of joining)
  • Excellent English communication skills and proficiency in Word and Excel
