About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front Office and Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front office and housekeeping departments, ensuring seamless guest experiences and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the front office and housekeeping teams, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Manage guest relations, resolving issues and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Oversee the maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring they meet the highest standards of cleanliness and quality.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including accounting, revenue management, sales, food and beverage, and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and excellent guest experiences.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with hotel standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to front office and housekeeping team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Manage departmental budgets, expenses, and inventory, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with guests, vendors, and partners to ensure excellent customer service and loyalty.
Requirements
  • Previous supervisory experience in a customer-facing and/or hospitality position.
  • Supervisory experience in housekeeping in a hotel or related industry.
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Tourism or Hospitality is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to think clearly in pressure situations, exercise good judgment, and focus attention on details.
  • Computer literate in property operating systems such as Opera, and Maestro, as well as being proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is an asset.
  • Highly interpersonal; comfortable engaging with all guests, visitors, vendors, and team members.
  • Experience in financial management for a housekeeping department is an asset.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment will be considered an asset.
  • A positive attitude is a must.
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include but are not limited to days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required by management.
