We are seeking a seasoned IFRS accounting expert to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. In this strategic role, you will provide critical accounting advisory services to internal stakeholders, ensuring that our financial practices align with the latest IFRS standards.

Responsibilities
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on Intact's IFRS accounting policies, including IFRS 9 and IFRS 17.
  • Provide strategic insights and advise Segment & Corporate Finance leaders on the appropriate application of Intact's accounting policies in complex transactions.
  • Monitor upcoming changes to IFRS and ensure ongoing compliance with Intact's accounting positions.
  • Analyze and monitor the development of IFRS accounting positions taken by peers within the industry and by accounting standard bodies.
  • Contribute to the training of various departments on Intact's accounting policies and serve as a contact person for stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and accounting standards IFRS advisory is required.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 9 is essential, while IFRS 17 knowledge is an asset.
  • Ability to lead and manage large, complex financial accounting projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in research, analysis, and implementation of changes to accounting policies.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
