We are seeking a skilled Nurse Care Specialist to join RhynoCare, providing top-notch nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and resident plans of care.

The ideal candidate will utilize sound nursing practice principles to deliver excellent care and ensure timely admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, emotional, and cultural needs of residents.
  • Ensure timely and safe transfers and discharges of residents.
  • Control and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, following established protocols.
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Effective, compassionate, and supportive manner in dealing with others.
  • Respect for each resident's individuality, self-respect, and privacy, and the right to share in decisions about their care.
  • Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statues.
  • Medical Clearance, including but not limited to TB tests.
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check.
