About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Laboratory Technician and/or Assayer to join our team in Trail, British Columbia. As a key member of our Analytical Services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality analytical services using a range of instruments and techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical services using optical emissions spectrometers, Leco C/S analyzer, AA spectrometers, calorimeter, alpha detectors, ICP-OES instruments, and auto-titrators.
  • Work in a variety of sections to meet changing work requirements or priorities.
  • Participate in special projects and method development projects aimed at extending the capabilities and service supplied by Analytical Services.
  • Conduct routine and assigned quality control tasks to maintain accuracy of results.
  • Train other technicians and trainees on Analytical Services and assaying procedures.
  • Recognize interferences between elements and take action to optimize sensitivities during instrument set-up.
  • Enter results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for direct reporting to Operations.
Requirements
  • A graduate with a B.Sc. in Chemistry, graduates of a two-year chemical sciences program (or equivalent), or BC Certified Assayer.
