Mortar Laboratory Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mortar Laboratory Technician to join our team at Lafarge Canada Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting production, sales, and product development through laboratory work.
Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Handle chemicals and equipment safely, minimizing environmental impact.
- Conduct regular equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Laboratory Testing and Equipment
- Perform tests and analyses according to industry standards (ASTM, AASHTO, CSA, etc.).
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Participate in inter-laboratory test campaigns and quality assurance programs.
- Manage laboratory inventory and supplies.
Education and Experience
- College diploma in civil engineering, chemistry, or a related field.
- Previous laboratory experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Technical Expertise
- Proficient in laboratory techniques and methods.
- Ability to update testing procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration.
Skills and Qualities
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Organized and autonomous with a flexible attitude.
- Ability to share knowledge and expertise.
- Proficient in Microsoft operating systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
