About the Role:

Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Manager – Electrical Testing to join its Quebec City factory team. As a key member of the quality assurance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of our electrical testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate electrical and mechanical tests for transformer production, ensuring compliance with company standards and protocols.
  • Work closely with production supervisors to coordinate production requirements, special tests, training, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in identifying electrical risks and developing solutions to mitigate them.
  • Ensure test safety requirements are met and produce reports for clients as needed.
  • Take charge of test equipment breakdowns and work with the team to resolve issues.
  • Plan training and act as a trainer for quality assurance technicians.
  • Share expertise and advise technicians during investigations of customer returns or test failures.
  • Carry out audits in the testing area and update work procedures as needed.
  • Participate in defining current and future investment needs in the testing area.

Requirements:

  • Hold a DEC in electrical, electrotechnical, electromechanical engineering, or industrial electronics technology, or a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Mastery of the MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of a Lean system, an asset.
  • Advanced French and English (comprehension, spoken, and written).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a team, and demonstrate rigor, resourcefulness, and determination.
