Role Overview

As a City Regulations Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in shaping the Township of Muskoka Lakes' land use policies and regulations. This position is part of a team that leads and supports initiatives focused on simplifying regulations to streamline permit processing.

The successful candidate will undertake a range of duties with an emphasis on regulation and policy development through to implementation. In this role, you will work closely with staff in other divisions in planning, urban design, and sustainability to draft and amend regulations and policies. You will manage work programs and support teams on diverse projects such as childcare regulations and zoning implementation related to social housing.

This position requires a strong understanding of the City's Zoning & Development By-law, city-wide by-laws, and land use policies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in planning, research, and analytical skills, proven ability developing planning policies, zoning, regulations, and guidelines, effective communication skills, and the ability to design and lead public consultation processes.
