Medical Laboratory Assistant II

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality laboratory services to our patients and communities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including specimen collection, preparation, and testing.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and other specialized equipment.
- Prepare and analyze laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
- Record and report laboratory results, including test results and patient information.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely laboratory results.
- Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program, plus one (1) year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively, including laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and patients.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
