About the Role

The Interior Health Authority is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Mental Health and Substance Use team in Kelowna, BC.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity with a focus on providing high-quality nursing care to patients with acute mental health challenges.

As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to psychiatric patients, both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Enhance quality of life for patients and their families through consultation, collaboration, and education
  • Participate in continuous improvement and evidence-based practice in nursing care
  • Maintain and advance clinical competence through ongoing education and training

About the Team

Our Mental Health and Substance Use program is committed to providing patient-centered care and promoting wellness through education, therapy, and support. We work closely with community mental health and substance use programs to ensure a seamless transition for patients returning to the community.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Graduation from an approved school of nursing and two years' recent experience in a mental health and substance use environment
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
