About the Role
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team at Sechelt Hospital. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide occupational therapy services to enable patients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. You will assess patients' occupational performance utilizing an evidence-based approach, plan and implement goal-directed services, and evaluate the effectiveness of the service.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to patients with a variety of conditions, including mental health and physical disabilities.
- Assess patients' occupational performance and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement goal-directed services, including therapy sessions, education, and support.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the service and make adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of occupational therapy services.
Requirements
- Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
- Basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to occupational therapy.
- Basic knowledge of occupational therapy standardized tests and measures.
- Broad knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice within a patient and family-centered model of care.
- Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
- Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings with diverse populations.
