Job Description

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Senior Project Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Reading technical and administrative project specifications;
  • Inspecting work daily to ensure that it meets the specified standards;
  • Informing Project Manager of project development and discussing methods planned with site management;
  • Ordering critical material with suppliers in collaboration with the Superintendent;
  • Performing quantity tracking and cost coding for purposes of productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting;
  • Performing duties related to the cost control cycle throughout the project execution, including tracking budgets and schedules;
  • Ensuring tracking of hours, expenses, costs, and budget updates;
  • Maintaining changes and coordination with the project team;
  • Recording and resolving issues related to project budgets and schedules;
  • Tabulating and formatting information into the client format for submission;
  • Ensuring the quality of prepared project reports, executive summaries, and dashboards;
  • Performing duties related to document control, including formatting documentation and maintaining records according to a cloud-based filing system;
  • Assisting in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts;
  • Organizing and participating in various meetings;
  • Establishing and keeping necessary communications between suppliers, sub-contractors, professionals, and clients;
  • Assisting in carrying out a variety of field duties at the job site related to the project.
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering program or similar, or a combination of technical training and/or related experience;
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience;
  • Experience in contracting industry (heavy civil preferred);
  • The ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical design drawings;
  • Experience with scheduling and planning site activities;
  • An excellent command of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, etc.;
  • Experience with cost analysis, control, and reporting;
  • Commercial knowledge and experience with contracts is considered an asset;
  • Bilingualism (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
