About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Programmer II to join our team at North Vancouver Recreation & Culture. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a variety of community-based recreation and social programs and special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recreation programs that meet the needs and interests of the community.
  • Supervise staff to ensure effective program operations and provide guidance on program development and implementation.
  • Collaborate with community groups and stakeholders to promote interest and participation in program activities.
  • Manage program budgets and operating schedules to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive experience for program participants.
Requirements
  • College or University graduation with courses in leisure and recreation, or related subjects.
  • Considerable knowledge of organized community recreation principles and practices.
  • Sound knowledge of methods, policies, and procedures applicable to the work.
  • Ability to work with program budgets and operating schedules; supervise; and assist community groups.
  • Direct experience working with volunteers and community in planning for services.
  • High level of interpersonal skills, flexibility, and adaptability, and the ability to work independently with sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with PerfectMind, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
