Recreation Programmer II

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Programmer II to join our team at North Vancouver Recreation & Culture. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating community-based recreation and social programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver inclusive recreation programs for diverse community groups, including children, youth, and adults with disabilities.
- Supervise staff and volunteers to ensure effective program operations and high-quality customer service.
- Collaborate with community groups, partners, and stakeholders to promote program activities and services.
- Manage program budgets and operating schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A degree in Leisure and Recreation, or a related field, supplemented by relevant work experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Considerable knowledge of organized community recreation principles and practices, including methods, policies, and procedures.
- Sound knowledge of all aspects of recreation programming, including children and youth, fitness, and inclusion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to participate in an earned day off (EDO) program. This is a unionized position, and the pay rate starts at $36.08 per hour and ranges to $42.45 per hour (2024 rates).
