Job Title: Carpenter Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Supervisor to join our team at WEST HILL FINISHING & CARPENTRY LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising workers and projects, co-ordinating and scheduling activities, and overseeing apprenticeship training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise workers and projects to ensure timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Co-ordinate and schedule activities to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Oversee apprenticeship training to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions.
  • Train or arrange for training to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Estimate costs and materials to ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to manage projects and communicate with team members.
  • Set up equipment and ensure it is properly maintained to prevent accidents and ensure efficiency.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Recommend personnel actions to ensure the team is working effectively and efficiently.
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Read blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements and ensure accurate execution.
  • Requisition materials and supplies to ensure projects have the necessary resources.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of supervising workers and projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Basic security clearance.
  • Criminal record check.
