Job Title: Carpenter Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Supervisor to join our team at WEST HILL FINISHING & CARPENTRY LTD. in a permanent position.

Job Summary:

The Carpenter Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of carpenters, coordinating projects, and ensuring the successful completion of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of carpenters to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Prepare and submit reports on project progress and team performance.
  • Coordinate and schedule activities to meet project deadlines.
  • Oversee apprenticeship training and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions.
  • Train or arrange for training to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
  • Set up equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and recommend personnel actions as needed.
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and read blueprints and drawings.
  • Requisition materials and supplies and requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in carpentry and supervisory roles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic security clearance and criminal record check.
