Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Route Supervisor to join our team at Emterra Group in Mississauga, ON. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $65,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Manage residential, garbage, and recycle routes and drivers on a daily basis;
- Plan and monitor employee schedules and route scheduling, ensuring regular communication throughout the day until all routes are completed;
- Ensure operations run safely by performing driver observations and monthly safety meetings;
- Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple routes;
- Perform operational audits of collection routes and observation routes;
- Ensure drivers required to operate company vehicles or equipment complete daily safety and maintenance checks to eliminate or reduce downtime;
- Perform training of new hires;
- Conduct accident investigations, including scene management, first accident report, and final analysis with root cause and preventative measures;
- Maintain Environmental Health and Safety programs, including training, meetings, and required reporting of relevant EH&S issues;
- Maintain adherence to company safety policies and MTO regulations;
- Required to work Fridays every five weeks or as required based on vacation coverage.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of route supervisory experience;
- Valid DZ license an asset (G Class Required);
- Experience operating waste collection equipment is an asset;
- Familiarity with route balancing and sequencing techniques;
- Ability to supervise others and ensure excellent performance by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against set goals, and providing feedback to address performance challenges as they arise;
- The skill and ability to cultivate positive working relationships with employees to ensure a team environment.
