About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team at Coast Mental Health. As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young individuals who are experiencing challenges related to mental health, addictions, and other complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide community outreach and support to youth in need, connecting them with essential services and resources.
  • Develop and implement individualized life skills programs to help youth achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting youth.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to youth in crisis, using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of program policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Community Social Service or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with youth in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of housing issues, local resources, and harm reduction approaches.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.
